Losar 2009

As February approaches we find ourselves once again on the verge of a New Year. The lunar year of the Earth Rat is ending and we are entering into the year of the Earth Cow. As many of you know, the riots of this past year have caused much sorrow and bloodshed of Tibetans as they continue to struggle against cultural and political oppression. Due to this the Tibetan community has officially decided not to have any celebration this Losar. However, we will still be performing the Losar Puja as that is an especially important way to honor those who have died and support those who continue to be affected through generating merit as well as making purification.

On behalf of all the international members of Nyernga Ngakde we will be performing the Grand Sadhanna & Sor Puja for the first time on our new retreat land, beginning on February 19th. It is a five-day intensive Puja requiring two full days of preparation. Successfully arranging a Puja of this magnitude depends on the support of the Sangha; without donations this kind of Puja is impossible. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate donations to help with the expenses (several thousand Dollars) for this very important Puja. A contribution not only makes it easier for us to perform this complicated ritual but is also the greatest way to accumulate merit on your behalf. If you would like to make a donation for this Puja please email us with your full name and birthdate so that you can be included in the dedication of the Puja, then we will send a reply with bank account information.
